This catcher was designed by Bill Cox (GBAPCD, Keeler, CA) for internal use by the Great Basin Air Pollution Control District. The outer tube is made of white PVC tubing and the center tube is clear acrylic. The inner tube has a closed bottom and slides into the outer tube.  This removable tube is the sample volume and is very easy to collect the sample.

Particles enter the opening between the top plate and sample tube (approximately 1cm). This unique arrangement captures material Omni-directional (360 degrees).

The use of a sand catcher provides a total mass reference.  Please review the DPC document for details.
